Safety

Think and act in a safe manner. Always disconnect power and use a lockout before you work on the E-coat system, or any of the related subsystems. Observe any confined space conditions. Use the appropriate safety equipment and clothing for the task. Please carefully read all the instructions listed below to familiarize yourself with the project before attempting to perform any of the work.

Required Materials

  • PVC Primer and Glue

Required Tools

  • Rubber Mallet
  • 9/16” Wrench
  • Tape Measure
  • Pipe Wrench
  • Strap Wrench

Step 1

Turn off the power to the Anolyte Circulation System (ACS). Disconnect wires to pump motor.

Step 2

Use pipe and strap wrenched to unscrew union in pump discharge assembly. Union is located directly below the flow meter.

Step 3

Unscrew five bolts that hold plate to tank using a 9/16” wrench.

Step 4

Lift the pump out of the tank. Place the pump on the ground, taking care to not break or stress the pump suction piping assembly.

Step 5

Unscrew pump strainer from the end of the pump suction piping assembly.

Step 6

Remove the retaining clip from the pump end-cover. Butterfly check (Technocheck) valve assembly can be pulled out. There will be slight resistance due to friction of the o-ring.

Step 7

Pick up new end cover/male fitting assembly and new o-ring. Insert o-ring inside of end cover. Using rubber mallet, gently tap new end cover into place. Replace retaining clip.

Step 8

Use PVC primer and PVC glue to attach swing check valve assembly to exposed end of male fitting. Make sure that the valve is completely seated on the male fitting. Allow to dry.

Step 9

Screw on pump strainer.

Step 10

Using a tape measure, make sure that the repaired pump suction piping assembly is no more than 12-3/4” long. If it is longer, it will not fit into the ACS tank.

Step 11

Pick up pump and gently place back into the tank. Screw five bolts into the plate. Fill the pump with D.I. water to prime the pump before starting. Screw union back into place in pump discharge assembly.
