Safety
Think and act in a safe manner. Always disconnect power and use a lockout before you work on the E-coat system, or any of the related subsystems. Observe any confined space conditions. Use the appropriate safety equipment and clothing for the task. Please carefully read all the instructions listed below to familiarize yourself with the project before attempting to perform any of the work.

Step 1

Step 2
Attach bulkhead to electrode as shown in picture below. Also, make sure that the hardware kit is put on properly (see picture). There will be oval holes in the bulkhead tab and the electrode to assure proper fit. Note: May have to adjust to make sure electrode is seated properly (reason being we are threading these parts together. When attaching the tubing make sure it goes on all of the barbs. Then use a clamp that came with the order and tighten. Important: Make sure compression washer is compressed. T5 anodes there will be an flat washer that needs to be put on the hex side of bolt, so bolt will not pass through oval hole.
Step 3
When installing the shell be sure that the word (DOWN) is facing the floor (or close to it). Make sure shell is supported by cap before going to next one.
Step 4
When it is time to install the electrodes, take red mesh and plastic off. Note: It may help to prevent scratching, if cotton gloves are worn. Use care when inserting electrode through stainless steel coupling to avoid scratches. Use a pipe wrench to tighten bulkhead until tightened. Very Important - Must make sure that the anolyte return is in the 12:00 position. This will assure that the oxygen properly escapes from inside of cell.
Note: UFSc recommends using Spears Blue 75 Thread Sealant for PVC threads.
